Lara started playing the piano from an early age and felt at home both in classical and jazz/pop style. During her long rides to school she would listen to music of different kinds with a growing love for filmmusic. It wasn't until after graduation that she realised the potential to pursue a career as a film composer.

After completing a one-year-program at the Musicube Academy in Bonn (Germany) she studied "composition for film & theater" at the ArtEZ University of Arts in Arnhem (Netherlands) from 2013 until 2017. She did an internship at the music department of renown Galaxy Studios in Mol (Belgium). In the following years the studio repeatedly hired her as a freelancer for score preparation and assistance during recording sessions with various orchestras. To this day Lara benefits from the experience and creative minds she got to meet there.

Right after graduation she got accepted into the filmmusic master's program at the Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf (Germany) where she was given the opportunity to compose soundtracks for several creative film projects, such as the immersive VR experience INTO THE RED (Prix Europa 2019, Student BAFTA Awards 2020) the essayistic documentary UGOKU TOKAI (IDFA 2020, DOC.BERLIN 2021, AAIFF 2021) and to record her compositions with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg.

Lara successfully graduated in 2021 and since then works as a freelance composer. She composes music for shorts, feature films, series, documentaries, and image films.

​

Her latest project RESET - Wie weit willst du gehen? (commissioned by ZDF, produced by Gaumont Germany) was shown in March 2024. Lara composed and produced the music for the six-part mini-series. It was broadcast on the TV channel ZDF. More information here.
